Technivo & Post-Build Cleans

Day-to-day, Technivo offer a full range of cleaning, maintenance and contamination management services to data centre operators and other businesses. We also offer a post-build clean after a data centre has been constructed and the internal areas have been completed. At the end of a build Technivo arrive to perform a deep clean – right down to clearing away the submicron particles released by construction activity.

Ensuring a site is clean and clear is a labour-intensive process that requires expertise and care – and above all, a schedule. We come with the requisite documentation and certification, fully staffed and fully trained. Our supervisors are on hand and our crew are well-equipped with the machinery brought onsite to carry out the clean to ISO standard. All of this is backed by our adherence to Safecontractor accreditation and our absolute attention to risk and the mitigation required to enable such delicate environments are kept in compliance.

Technivo are either directly contracted by clients who run facilities, or subcontracted by data centre construction firms. More commonly we are brought in as independent contractors to service the site, as there often are additional tasks that data centre management will ask us to perform. If working side by side with the buildout crew, there may be tiers of cleaning, such as:

Builders clean – where debris and rubbish are cleared away to save the construction zone from being overwhelmed by waste.

Technical Deep ISO14644 clean – this is a more detailed, thorough clean which may take our technicians several days to complete as they go over all surfaces and areas inside the facility, such as ducts and cabinets, and ensure atmospheric dust levels are brought down. Operatives may go over surfaces and key areas multiple times to ensure they are free of potentially harmful debris, and to ensure harmful dust does not become airborne again.

The final phase – what might be called the ‘touch-up stage’. This is when the dust finally settles and our staff can go over surfaces and hidden areas one last time, ensuring the whole area is spotless and ready for equipment to get up and running. This is often enhanced by an ISO14644 air particulate test which our staff are trained to conduct using state of the art analysers. We then provide a detailed report showing particle counts in pre-determined or general areas of the data centre, and analysis of any issues including humidity ‘hotspots’. Finally, a certification based on these results is produced and sent to the client.

As with all our jobs, a thorough assessment is conducted before the work is undertaken and the necessary documentation is supplied. Only when all requirements and measures are satisfied, do we bring our equipment and staff onsite. Throughout the job our experienced team leads keep communication open with the data centre operations team, so anything of note is reported, and the facility otherwise runs safety and securely for equipment and personnel.

If your data hall or server room has undergone any alteration or if any construction at all has taken place, we strongly advise you arrange a deep clean before you put it back into operation, to ensure that your equipment is not compromised by debris or adverse air quality. As all operators know, contamination can mean downtime, and is the biggest indirect cause for operations having to be paused.

If you are planning any construction or refit of your critical IT environment and would like to discuss your post-build requirements, call Technivo on +44 1428 714770 or email info@technivo.co.uk to arrange a call and site visit from our experienced technicians.
